A two-day trip to Mount Toubkal from Marrakech offers an adventurous trek through the Atlas Mountains, culminating in the summit of North Africa’s highest peak. It combines stunning landscapes, cultural insights, and a physical challenge, making it a perfect short expedition for those seeking outdoor adventure close to Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Refuge Toubkal

Pick up from Marrakech and drive to the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains (1.5 hours). Meet your muleteers, mules, and support crew at Imlil. Begin the trek, enjoying the stunning scenery of traditional Berber farming villages. Stop for lunch on the trail. Continue walking until reaching the Refuge Toubkal at 3200m, where you’ll meet other hikers.

  • Night at the Refuge

Day 2: Climb the Toubkal Summit – Imlil – Marrakech

Early Morning Wake up, have breakfast, and start the ascent up the valley and ridge to the summit of Mount Toubkal (4167m). Enjoy the breathtaking view from the highest peak in North Africa, then descend to Imlil and drive back to Marrakech.

  • Driving 1.5 hours.
